Surprise in Cagliari residents' mail: Tari notices arrive
New developments in municipal tax collection. The Municipality: "Necessary to timely pay the social waste bonus."

The Cagliari City Council's Tax Office has recently begun sending out payment notices for the 2026 TARI advance payment . Many Cagliari residents have already received the advance payment form in their certified email inboxes.
"Following the provisions of ARERA (the Italian Energy Regulatory Authority), the Municipality announced, it was decided to proceed with the issuance of advance collection documents for the 2026 TARI (Tax on Waste) in order to pay the social waste bonus to those entitled to the first available instalment ."
The advance payment is calculated at 75% and is due in three installments on July 31, September 30, and November 30. "Payment of any balance due for 2026 is deferred until December."
