The level of integrity shown in recent years has allowed us to bring home a new political vision and present it to the city. Therefore, I approach governing with the same determination as I did 25 years ago, when I began my administrative experience in the Council. This ruling class has sparked the desire to change political vision, and therefore we will bring forward the demands that could change the fate of this community.
The mayor of Porto Torres, Massimo Mulas , reappointed as city councilor, opened the inaugural session of the city council , initially chaired by senior councilor Gavino Ruiu, with a speech in which he recalled his five-year term and outlined future prospects . After the unanimous and favorable validation of the elected city councilors, the session continued with the replacement of the councilors, the first to be elected.
Sitting in the chamber are Democratic Party councilors Gavino Ruiu, Alessandro Carta, Rossella Mellino, Gianpiero Madeddu, Massimiliano Ledda, Pinuccio Vacca, and Claudia Pintus; for the Green and Left Alliance, councilors Francesco Pintus and Antonio Cossu; Giovanna Manca and Patrizia Madeddu for Orizzonte Comune; and Anna Spanu for Porto Torres Avanti. Seven councilors are on the minority benches, two elected from the center-right coalition, with Gian Mario Sircana and Ivan Cermelli as mayoral candidate. On the lists of the Sardinian Civic Identitarian group, councilor Sara Dettori, candidate for mayor; Ico Bruzzi and Anita Giaconi of Sardinia at the Center; Carlo Cossu of Sardegna Vera; and Costantino Biello of the PSD'Az. The third item on the agenda was the mayor's swearing-in, followed by the appointment of the members of the municipal council: Maria Bastiana Cocco for Culture, Gavina Muzzetto for the Environment, Antonello Cabitta for Sport, while Claudio Piras of Orizzonte Comune received the delegation for Commerce, Cristina Capuana of Porto Torres Avanti, the delegation for Urban Planning, Gaetano Mura (deputy mayor) and the delegation for the Budget.
The council elected Giulia Manca as president, with Anita Giaconi and Gavino Ruiu as vice presidents. Finally, the two councilors who make up the electoral commission were appointed: Rossella Mellino, Costantino Biello, and Patrizia Madeddu.
