Antonino Demelas, 70 years old from Mogorella, was reached by a precautionary custody order in prison for robbery, personal injury and illegal carrying of a weapon . Provision that reached him in Uta, where he is serving his sentence for pedophilia .

According to the investigators, he was also among the criminals who attacked Mario Gessa in Selargius in 2016.

That night, it was February 17, 2016, four men entered the home of the then 73-year-old (who died in 2018). They beat him, tied him up and gagged him, then demanded the keys to the safe and fled after stealing four rifles, a pistol and 60 euros.

What nailed Demelas were the findings made immediately after the coup and the investigations carried out by the Ris of Cagliari. Two fragments of fingerprints were found on the door of a wardrobe and, near Gessa's house, a latex glove worn by one of the bandits and a pillowcase used to transport the stolen goods.

The investigations conducted by the RIS of Cagliari made it possible to extrapolate traces of DNA from the latex glove and pillowcase attributable to two subjects unknown at the time . One of these was found to be compatible with the fingerprint of Demelas' brother, the genetic profile found in the latex glove being identical. Hence the order carried out by the carabinieri of Cagliari.
