Fire alarm still high in Sardinia: dozens of hectares up in smoke, even aircraft in the air

Another day of hard work this summer 2025 for Sardinia's firefighting teams.

Over the course of a few hours , 14 interventions were carried out to put out the flames in as many locations on the island.

There were four most challenging fronts, where the intervention of air resources was also necessary.

Helicopters and SuperPumas in action in Santadi , in the Riu Rigau area ( VIDEO ), where the intervention of a Canadair was also requested.

There was also an emergency in the countryside of Scano di Montiferro , in the Bena Uda area, where helicopters were deployed to support the Forestry Corps and firefighters. The fire affected nearly three hectares of bare pasture.

Ground teams and air forces are still in action between Carbonia and Iglesias ( READ ), where a vast fire has damaged 15 hectares of Mediterranean scrub.

Finally, air intervention was also carried out in Pabillonis , in the Bau Sterriu area, with a light helicopter and a Super Puma flying over the area, taking off from the Fenosu Forestry base.
