A swim in the rough waters of Cala Lupo, then a sudden illness and difficulty swimming and reaching shore.

According to initial reports, this is how 63-year-old Swiss tourist Barbara Moser, the woman who dived into the rough waters this morning off the beautiful beach on the Stintino coast, died. The waves dragged her to the rocks, before the eyes of her sister and her husband, who tried in vain to save her. They had been on vacation for a few days and had not wanted to miss a dip in the renowned seaside resort, not far from La Pelosa beach.

The tragedy struck around 12:35 pm, after he and his wife and relatives had decided to go for a swim.

Suddenly, the woman began to swim with difficulty, a few strokes, then she sank, pushed by the waves onto the rocks. Her husband rushed to the rocks and then pulled her to shore, now unconscious. Emergency medical personnel, who arrived on the scene with an ambulance and air ambulance, attempted to revive her. But nothing could be done.

Also on site were the air rescue, the Porto Torres Coast Guard, the Carabinieri from the Stintino station together with the men of the Barracellare company and the firefighters.
