Robberies and violence in Fonni, the mayor: "The community has been affected, we strongly condemn and remain vigilant."

"These acts affect not only the victims but the entire social fabric." The mayor of Fonni, Daniela Falconi , spoke out following recent violent incidents in the Barbagia town.

The mayor spoke during the City Council meeting, convened to review the events. "It's important to reflect when events like this happen, which deeply affect our community," she said.

The reference in particular is to three episodes: the robbery of last March 26 , when a gang of criminals went into action using an excavator to smash the window of the Velari jewelry store, the attack on an elderly couple robbed in their home by two armed men , and finally the graffiti against the Carabinieri that appeared on the walls of the sports field.

"Obviously, all these events, along with all those that unfortunately sometimes occur in our community," she continued, "represent something that cannot be underestimated. As mayor, and even more so as a citizen, I feel compelled to express my firm condemnation, but above all, my sympathy to those affected ."
