Iglesias, fire in Sa Stoia: bus destroyed by flames

There were moments of apprehension in the early hours of the morning in the Sa Stoia area of Iglesias, where an ARST bus was completely destroyed by a fire that broke out in the forecourt of a workshop that also handles maintenance on the public transport company's vehicles.
The alarm was raised around 5:40 a.m. The owner of the garage recounted the initial moments of the incident, explaining that he had just arrived at the facility when he noticed a small flame developing at the front of the bus. He immediately attempted to intervene, grabbing a fire extinguisher to contain the flames while waiting for help to arrive, but his efforts were insufficient to prevent the fire from spreading.
Firefighters from the Iglesias detachment responded to the scene, extinguishing the flames and subsequently clearing the area, securing the affected area.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported. The vehicle, however, was completely destroyed. It was an older model of bus that was no longer used for passenger transport.
According to initial information, firefighters have confirmed that the fire was not started deliberately. The precise cause of the blaze remains to be determined.
