Car breaks down in tunnel after being hit by a van loaded with wood: one seriously injured on Highway 195

Serious accident in the early afternoon on State Road 195, inside the tunnel in the Sarroch area.
A Fiat Punto, perhaps due to a breakdown, was stopped inside the tunnel, on the carriageway heading towards Cagliari, when a van loaded with timber arrived and hit it head-on.
The impact was extremely violent: the small car rolled over several times, then crashed into the tunnel wall. The driver suffered multiple injuries from the impact. Rescued by emergency workers, he was rushed to the Brotzu Hospital in Cagliari, where he was listed as critical. His condition is serious.
Sarroch local police diverted traffic onto the old 195 road during rescue operations and to carry out surveys. Firefighters were also on site.
