It all started with a checkpoint by the State Police, then panic in the streets of Quartu . It happened in Viale della Musica , where a 33-year-old man, driving a Smart car (with a passenger on board with him), burned the car to escape . The reason? He had never gotten a driving license .

When the officers raised the paddle, he initially slowed down, then hit the gas and ran away. At a second stop, the man responded with a new acceleration, but not only that: he aimed the car at a policeman, trying to run him over . To avoid being hit, the operator was forced to throw himself onto the bonnet of the service car .

So the Smart continued its escape at full speed through the streets of Quartu , with serious risks for vehicles and pedestrians passing in the area. Only later did the police identify the couple, while they had already abandoned the car: they were entering a small park in the neighborhood, and the driver's tattoos were decisive in their recognition .

The car, however, was found shortly afterwards, in nearby Via Gabriel. The two were accompanied to the offices of the Quartu police station. The man driving, a Quartese with a history of crimes against property and drugs, was arrested on charges of resisting a public official . Furthermore, he was charged with six different violations of the Highway Code, including driving without ever having obtained a license.
