Many had adopted him; he was part of a large family , not just one owner but several, all living on Via Azuni, in the heart of Porto Torres , ready to care for him when the opportunity arose. His name was Tigro, the cat poisoned by a probable rodenticide , a very strong poison that left the animal no chance.

Affectionate to the residents of the street, Tigger left his many owners who cared for him for ten years in grief: he died in the vet's office, having convulsions and epileptic seizures.

"A terrible death that leaves us deeply saddened and, above all, angry," says Daniela Negrini, one of the owners who first rescued the feline. "He came to me in the afternoon. He looked strange, with one red eye. Then he started struggling," she continues, "so I asked the neighbors for help, and together we decided to take him immediately to the vet, hoping to see him healthy again."

Everyone gave their support, even financially, to save the cat.

For his owners, he was like a friend who asked for a caress every day and brought joy. Death came a few hours later, when medical tests revealed a rather critical clinical picture. "Man is evil, I was not born for this world," wrote one of the residents. "We, united in this battle against those who want to kill defenseless animals, advise all pet owners to be extremely careful and to contact the police immediately if they see rodenticides or other poisons on the ground, out of respect for the animals," Daniela concludes.
