Another day of closure, another blow to local healthcare. Tomorrow, July 26th, from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., the Emergency Room at the San Giuseppe Hospital in Isili will be closed. Once again. Due to "temporary organizational issues," reads yet another hastily posted notice. But for the residents of Sarcidano and Barbagia di Seulo, this is no longer an extraordinary emergency: it has become the tragic norm.

The area is experiencing a healthcare system that's collapsing piece by piece: this isn't the first time the only operational emergency room in the area has closed, leaving thousands without an immediate response in an emergency. A situation that's pushing more and more residents to live with the daily anxiety of "What if I feel sick tomorrow?"

The critical issues, long reported by healthcare workers, residents, and local administrators, remain unresolved. And as the hardship grows, services are shutting down. The Isili facility, a vital health facility for a large portion of the inland area, is now a symbol of abandonment.

Corrado Meloni, regional councilor for the Brothers of Italy party, also raised the issue, submitting an urgent question to the Council. "The local administrators' concern over the severe shortage of medical and nursing staff at the Isili hospital is understandable, which is causing serious problems, even leading to the closure of some services," Meloni stated.

The Medicine department has been in critical condition for some time, and the Emergency Room is now only open during daytime hours. Now it's temporarily closed. Councilor Bartolazzi must take urgent action.

A request that clashes with months—even years—of silence and broken promises. Meanwhile, those living in the Sardinian interior are forced to travel hundreds of kilometers to receive emergency care, relying on the hope that nothing serious happens.
