One of the most evocative places in the city of Porto Torres was chosen to place the "Bench of lovers", a nice and generous initiative inaugurated in front of the imposing Aragonese Tower and the spear set up during the end-of-year celebrations.

The municipal administration greets the month of February, traditionally dedicated to the Valentine's Day, with an installation that also aims to become an opportunity to promote the city on social media. In the coming days, a photo contest will be launched in which all people who love each other, regardless of age or gender, will be invited to have their picture taken on the bench and to publish the image on Instagram and Facebook. «The Aragonese Tower is a symbol of the city and for some time and with continuity we have been trying to bring the area to life, which is constantly visited at all times of the year, with heterogeneous initiatives» said the councilor for culture, Maria Bastiana Coconut. «Our hope is that sooner or later the Municipality will be able to directly take care of the Tower which deserves to be valorised. We thank the Multiservice operators for this new job and the Scarpa family who donated the "Nicola P." which will remain as a permanent installation.

The bench was created by the staff of Multiservizi, with particular care by Antonello Cosimano who today, during a small ceremony, was thanked for the attention and enthusiasm put into the creation of the building. Even the boat will be decorated with flowers on Valentine's Day.

"This installation represents the terminus of an ideal itinerary of love and reconciliation that we have started from the other end of the seafront with the statue of the Abbracci by Odo Tinteri", commented Simona Fois, councilor for Equal Opportunities. "We believe that after the distances and difficulties imposed by the difficult years we've been through, even small signs are needed to enhance the universal message of love that goes beyond the simple bond of a couple".
