Porto Torres, from woman to man: Manuele tells his rebirth

On Friday 4th July, the Filippo Canu hall in Porto Torres will host the event entitled “4th July, my rebirth” at 7pm, a short film focused on the journey of Manuele Derudas . Born in Porto Torres 43 years ago with the name of Manuela, at 30 he was reborn as Manuele : an autobiographical, sincere and authentic story about the importance of recognizing oneself and having the courage to choose and pursue one's own happiness.
" I decided to tell my story to give a voice to those who too often remain silent and on this occasion I want to send a message of freedom , self-determination and courage", said Manuele "In a world still marked by prejudices I hope that this event can shine a light on those who seek the right to be happy without compromise, as I did".
In addition to the protagonist, there will be the city councilor Gavino Sanna, the representative of the Mos, Simone Sanna Venerdini, the psychologist Antonio Unida, the psychologist Aurelia Basso and Maria Paola Curreli of the Agedo association. The meeting, organized by the Sardinian Homosexual Movement and sponsored by the Municipality of Porto Torres, will be moderated by Antonio Unida.
