Porto Torres, 72-year-old arrested on the run after being convicted of cocaine trafficking
The man disembarked from a ship from Barcelona and found agents waiting for him
The policemen of the Alghero Commissariat and those of the Flying Squad of the Sassari Police Headquarters arrested a 72-year-old Italian man, definitively sentenced to 9 years in prison for international cocaine trafficking.
The man had to atone for about 5 years of residual sentence but, when the arrest order was issued, he was nowhere to be found.
Soon after, the judicial authority issued a European arrest warrant. But the man's escape lasted only 20 days and ended in Sardinia.
In fact, the man landed in Porto Torres from a motor ship coming from Barcelona, finding the agents of Alghero and Sassari waiting for him.
Then the release of handcuffs and the transfer to the Sassari-Bancali prison where the 72-year-old will have to atone for the remaining sentence.
