Order of "public danger" for the dog that, on April 1st in Porto Torres , had bitten a 32-year-old man inside his partner's home.

The animal, a rottweiler breed, male with a black coat and large in size, will now be subjected to a rigid rehabilitation program, as established by the ordinance of the mayor Massimo Mulas.

Following the serious episode , he ended up in the register of aggressive dogs , following a report from the ASL Sassari - Department of Prevention, complex structure for stray animals and companion animal registry of Northern Sardinia, directed by Andrea Sarria, president of the veterinary medicine association.

The mayor signed the provision which imposes severe measures on the owner, partner of the man attacked by the rottweiler .

The dog was inside his owner's home when, for reasons yet to be assessed, he attacked the young man on the forearm and leg, causing deep wounds.

Transferred to the emergency room of the civil hospital of Sassari, the man was treated with three hundred stitches . To protect public safety, the mayor has imposed the immediate obligation of behavioral evaluation of the dog and possible therapeutic intervention by veterinarians expert in animal behavior, with particular reference to the breed of the animal.

Furthermore, the immediate obligation to adopt all necessary measures has been established to prevent the dog from going outside of its home without the presence of the owner, who will have to equip the dog with a muzzle and leash in urban areas and in places open to the public.

The woman will also be required to take out civil insurance for damages against third parties no later than ten days from notification of the order.

Finally, the owner of the rottweiler herself will have to carry out the training course with immediate start and, at the end, will have to produce the so-called license which certifies participation and certification relating to the state of the animal following the prescribed therapeutic intervention. In case of non-compliance with the provisions of the ordinance, an administrative fine of between 25 and 500 euros will be applied.
