The Region has activated the project “START: Youth & Business”, dedicated to young Sardinians between 18 and 35 years old who want to transform their ideas into concrete entrepreneurial projects.
The project, financed by the Sardinia Region and the Ministry for Sport and Youth led by Andrea Abodi and implemented in collaboration with Invitalia , represents "an opportunity for young Sardinians through the valorisation of the creative, cultural and environmental resources of Sardinia".
"Recent analyses - stressed the regional councilor for Public Education and Culture, Ilaria Portas - show us that in the last ten years Italy has lost a fifth of businesses led by young people . In Sardinia the rate of youth entrepreneurship is below the national average . With this project we want to try to reverse the trend and support young Sardinians by building a bridge between them, educational institutions, universities and the business world , through dedicated hubs, where it is possible to strengthen skills, develop entrepreneurial culture and orient oneself towards emerging professions. Starting a business requires courage, vision and adequate skills. No one should face this journey alone".
Starting from this consideration, a structured path was created together with Invitalia to support young aspiring entrepreneurs, including students in the final years of high school, university and post-university, which includes the provision of tools considered essential for the development of skills, to build a business plan and to access financing opportunities.
The program includes orientation activities, training courses and personalized mentorship, in the classroom and online, with experts in business, business management, communication and storytelling . Workshops and laboratories to refine ideas and transform them into concrete projects, events and networking opportunities to create strategic connections in the business world.
«For the implementation of youth policies, financed by the share of the Youth Policy Fund , managed by the Department for Youth Policies and Universal Civil Service and regional co-financing, we considered it appropriate to broaden and expand the national "Rete" project - underlined Councilor Portas - which saw, already in 2023, the inauguration in Nuoro of the first territorial hub in Italy, to create and coordinate public and private realities with the meeting between supply and demand of work and business» .
