An escape that is causing controversy. In Cabras, for a few weeks now, nine children who attended the nursery school on Via De Gasperi, a brand new structure after renovations by the Municipality, have decided to pack their bags and move to the nursery school on Torregrande. Almost a class has therefore been halved. For the municipal administration, this is a significant loss, given the resources that it has been investing in all the schools in the town for several years, especially the one on Via De Gasperi.

The mayor Andrea Abis does not hide his disappointment: "Unfortunately I found out about the transfer after the fact, when the children's parents showed up at the Town Hall to explain the situation they had been experiencing for some time. Otherwise I would have done everything to avoid this escape. The children of Cabras must stay in their town, also in light of the many investments we are making. In Solanas, for example, a brand new school is being built. We cannot afford to have children who move away".

On the reasons for the transfer, Abis explains: "I know that there has been some friction between the parents and the teachers. That's what the families told me." However, Abis has not given up, despite the transfer having already taken place and the school year almost coming to an end: "I have asked for the intervention of the Municipality's social services, who are preparing a report on the matter. In order to have a clear picture of the situation, in short, which seems to have degenerated. Then I will present the documentation to the school management, asking them to implement all possible actions to ensure that the nine children return to Cabras starting next September. For us, the Municipality, it is not easy to intervene when there are tensions between the school and the families, but this situation absolutely must be resolved."
