Great fear along the beach of Is Arutas , in the Oristano area, for a Spanish tourist on holiday on the island . The facts, recounted in a long letter addressed to the editorial staff of Unionesarda.it, date back to April 27 , when the woman, Sònia her name, was in the area with her dog.

"At a certain point," she explains, still shocked by what happened, " two black dogs, a male and a female without an eye, who were walking around with a puppy, attacked my dog as he was getting out of the car . The dogs suddenly appeared and were clearly intent on attacking : if I hadn't gotten my dog back in the car, I don't know what would have happened, because they managed to bite and hurt him only while I was trying to chase them away."

"I want to report what happened," Sònia continues, " because I find it incredible that this is happening in developed countries like Italy, and especially in tourist destinations where people are increasingly traveling with their pets . I don't even want to think about what would have happened if I hadn't known how to handle the situation."

Sonia still had to pay for her own vet treatment, but " what I certainly won't get over any time soon," she explains, "is the trauma I suffered . I hope that those in charge will look into this report of mine, also to prevent further damage and possible future attacks on other tourists."
