A country "upset" by the tragedy at work that today ended the young life of Salvatore Piras, a 23-year- old worker who died in a tragic accident at work in Sorso .

The mayor of Ossi , Pasquale Lubinu, is the spokesperson for the mood of an entire community: “Salvatore was a sunny boy, a worker who in his spare time participated in the life of the community with passion and commitment”, he comments.

He would have turned 23 on Tuesday 19 April, a birthday that will never be celebrated: "What happened is a huge misfortune, we cling to the family in this moment of great pain," continues the mayor.

The boy was very attached to his country and was part of the Santa Vittoria folk group, with which he carried on the traditions of Sardinian culture.

THE ACCIDENT - Occurred in the warehouse of a construction company in Sorso. Piras was loading scaffolding pipes stacked on a wall on the truck when some of them hit him in the head.

A very violent impact that proved fatal. In addition to the 118 health workers and the firefighters, the carabinieri of the local station and of the Porto Torres Company, as well as employees of the Spresal, the Prevention and Safety at Work Service rushed to the scene.

She too is asking to invest more in the training of workers.

"Work should be the hope of a worthy life and instead once again led to the death of a young man, we will never resign ourselves to this", says the Sardinian deputy of the Democratic Party Romina Mura, emphasizing a phenomenon, that of white deaths, which “shows no signs of slowing down, on the contrary it gets worse”.

The Sassari M5S deputy Mario Perantoni speaks of a "terrible death", asking to "urgently ascertain the causes of the accident".
