The decision comes on Sunday, just three days before the deadline. Massimiliano Sanna has revoked his resignation and appointed a part of the Giunta of Oristano : three councilors to address the main critical issues in the city waiting to close the circle.

This is Maria Bonaria Zedda, who has been assigned the delegation for the Environment, hygiene and decorum of the city, public and private green areas, environmental police, hamlets, villages and neighbourhoods; Simone Prevete for public works, technological services, maintenance, cemetery services, toponymy and Carmen Murru for social services, plus, housing policies, associations, equal opportunities.

"In the light of the numerous meetings that have taken place in recent weeks, summarizing the political positions that are responsibly moving towards a resolution of the crisis, I announce the withdrawal of the resignation from the office of mayor of Oristano, presented in the City Council on 28 July last". Sanna specifies, « for reasons that cannot be postponed and urgent, I appoint the three councilors to be able to promptly intervene on the critical issues, which are more relevant at this stage, in the areas of urban decoration, public works and social services. In compliance with the law, the delegation of deputy mayor will be assigned to councilor Zedda, on a provisional basis, for administrative seniority".

After almost two months of paralysis, there is no more time to lose and an executive meeting is scheduled for tomorrow. «It will be my care», adds Sanna, «in the shortest possible time, to complete the process of the executive, always in the supreme interest of the city of Oristano and with a sense of responsibility».

It remains to be seen whether the decision will bring everyone to agreement or will fuel new discontent among the centre-right parties.
