Oristano, sends her friend a photo with the "1522": saved from the violence of her husband

A woman calls the emergency number 112 and informs the operator on duty of the Provincial Command of the Carabinieri of Oristano , in a somewhat alarmed tone, that shortly before a friend and colleague of hers - both social and health workers at a local facility - had sent her on Whatsapp a screenshot , without text, with only the image of "1522" : toll-free number active 24x7 that welcomes requests for help and support from victims of violence and stalking.

The Carabinieri operator, realizing the seriousness of the situation , after quickly collecting all possible data, sends two patrols from the Oristano company to the home of the alleged victim, a 47-year-old woman , to ascertain what was happening within those walls. . Here the Carabinieri begin their investigations and discover that the woman, as early as 2007, was the victim of heavy threats (including death threats) and ill-treatment by her husband even in front of her two minor children.

The victim, as often happens in these cases, until then had not reported the tragic events to the police for fear of his executioner; only last December did she gather courage and contact the anti-violence center in Oristano to ask for help in finding another accommodation, given the worsening situation.

The activity of the Carabinieri who, after gaining the woman's trust, managed to clarify the situation, ended favorably with the order of the Judge for Preliminary Investigations of the Court of Oristano , application of the ban on the husband's approaching the places frequented by the offended person , notified to the suspect on 23 January last and which contains the results of the Carabinieri investigations which shed light on a relationship based on oppression and violence by the suspect against his wife, so as to induce her to leave her home and move to the parents.
Another case of ill-treatment resolved not only thanks to the timely intervention of the Arma, but above all thanks to the courage that they managed to find the victim's friend and the victim herself in asking for help from the police and reporting the facts: only in this way such a serious and increasingly widespread phenomenon can be stemmed.
