It doesn't matter if the wind is strong and the star is moving: he arrives very quickly and you score a perfect, textbook center. And Via Duomo goes wild. The Sartiglietta yesterday started with a bang. Su Componidoreddu Gabriele Piras, 17 years old with five Sartiglie under his belt, immediately steals the show by hitting the star. And then he celebrates by making the trophy dance on his sword along the entire route, cheering for him. The celebration, organized as always by the Oristano Pro Loco, led by President Ilaria Canu, began in Piazza Roma in the late morning: that's where the mini-race leader became Su Componidoreddu for everyone. And then everyone marches towards Via Duomo for the race to the star, accompanied by the role of drummers and the blare of trumpets. Four hours of a true spectacle .
There were nine stars in total . After the little king of the city made his debut, it was his companion in the adventure: Francesco Tumbarello , just 12 years old, took the star, second. Salvatore Cocco and Mattia Cogotzi then hit the jackpot. They too received applause from the crowd in Via Duomo, which hadn't been seen in such large numbers for many years. But little Gabriel Demontis , who grew up on bread and the Sartiglia, also managed to take a star.
Grandpa Antonio Fiori , known to all as Melanzana, a historic knight of the Sartiglia, is celebrating. A celebration followed for the young rider Debora Cadeddu . And then two more stars: Lara Carta and Federico Mura hit the bull's eye. Then there's someone who, having failed to hit the bull's eye with the sword, tries with su stoccu and succeeds. A star for su terzu Matteo Carta , the ninth and final of the day dedicated to children. The race for the star concludes with su componidoreddu with Sa Remada: a magic that will go down in history. Lying on his horse, he rode the length of Via Duomo, greeting the crowd with Sa pippia de maju. And who knows how many tears of joy flowed beneath his light green mask. Then came the inevitable confetti battle that colored the city center, and finally the two teams of riders. And the Sartiglietta 2026 has also been archived.
