It doesn't matter if instead of horses there will be ones made with canes: the important thing is to run fast and maybe even get the star, accompanied by the roll of drums and the applause of the public. Tomorrow afternoon, in the Su Brugu district of Oristano, another edition of the "Sartill'e canna" will be staged, a Carnival celebration that began in the 70s and has never been interrupted thanks to the association for the protection and increase of cane horses, the true soul of the event.

There will be three hours of show, a game that recreates the Sartiglia for adults and in which many children from all over the province participate every year. The appointment is at 2pm, in the square behind the church. Here the dressing of the mini racing leader will take place: Mattia Onida, 9 years old, will wear a top hat like a real componidori. His name was drawn by lot two Sundays ago after mass, as tradition dictates, by Don Alessandro Floris. Little Mattia will be escorted by second Giorgia Putzolu and third Perla Ruggero.

Once the dressing ritual is over, the race for the star will begin until dusk, in a magical and fun atmosphere where everything is in miniature. In the parish hall transformed into a real "stable", around a thousand rush steeds were created.
