All activities at the Costa Smeralda airport in Olbia were interrupted due to a bomb threat, which returned around 8.30pm.

"There is a bomb in a plane" : this is the content of the phone call that triggered the evacuation and search plans for the bomb.

All the people waiting to board (six flights) were evacuated while the passengers of some arriving flights, at least two, were not allowed to disembark and remained on the plane. A thousand people stopped for hours between the square and the runway while the entire space in front was cleared of taxis and public transport.

The police operated in all sectors of the airport, and then gave the green light to restart operations.

The climate of great tension at an international level, especially after the jihadist raid in Belgium , had already imposed maximum alert even in Italian airports.
