Seven years and 8 months for Roberta Barabino, three years and ten months for her husband Graziano Francesco Coinu . These are the final penalties inflicted by the Nuoro magistrate, Giovanni Angelicchio, in the first tranche of the trial for the unfaithful support administrator who over the years has preyed on dozens of elderly and fragile people .

Husband and wife were declared perpetually banned from holding public office, and their homes and assets in their possession were confiscated for an amount equivalent to 591 thousand euros . For them, the public prosecutors of Nuoro, Riccardo Belfiori and Selene Desole, who had defined the system put in place by Barabino as "a predatory system" had requested a sentence of 14 years for the woman and 4 years and 4 months for her husband, who was acquitted yesterday for a charge.

Six cases came to trial today, of the 50 underway, 1,330 cases of embezzlement, 34 cases of self-laundering and 9 forgeries . The two condemned men were defended by the lawyers Gianluca Sannio and Antonio Secci. Only Coinu in the courtroom today, Barabino who had apologized in the last hearing did not participate in the reading of the sentence
