New local health authority directors, center-right on the offensive: "Who will pay for damages to the treasury and external lawyers?"

The center-right is on the offensive following the Todde administration's new appointments of local health authority (ASL) general managers.
"The Five Star Movement's magic pipe has convinced the Democratic Party, and in Campo Largo there's a truce on healthcare appointments," stings Fausto Piga, deputy group leader for the Brothers of Italy in the regional council . He adds: "For now, the partial appointments may reconcile the Democratic Party and the Five Star Movement, but this story doesn't have a happy ending for the Sardinians. Indeed, the financial damage from the illegitimate commissioners remains. Who will pay?" asks the representative of Giorgia Meloni's party.
"In healthcare," Piga continues, "due to inaction and institutional follies , 20 months of the legislature have already been wasted on political risk , but in reality, no problem has been resolved to date, and the inherited problems have all worsened. Campo Largo," concludes the note from the FdI councilor, "should stop playing with the health of Sardinians and start taking its responsibilities as a government seriously."
Forza Italia is also strongly critical: "At the most delicate moment for Sardinian healthcare, following the declaration of unconstitutionality of regional regulations that led to a widespread administration later rejected by the Constitutional Court, the Regional Council is making a serious and politically irresponsible choice: wasting public resources by outsourcing work to external lawyers, ignoring the existence of a structured, authoritative regional legal office staffed by highly competent professionals," comments Pietro Pittalis, MP and regional secretary of the Forza Italia party.
"There was no need," Pittalis adds, "to resort to external consulting. The Region has the expertise, it's qualified, and it's already paid to do this work. However, choosing external consultants means wasting public money , undermining regional expertise, and diverting resources from essential services," Pittalis attacks. "This behavior raises serious questions about the waste of resources and potential financial damage. Every euro spent needlessly on external consultancy is a euro taken away from healthcare, services, and the citizens of Sardinia."
"While the Regional Council scrambles to manage the consequences of poor political decisions, instead of clarifying matters and taking responsibility, they are focusing on legal protection, exploiting the tax liability shield that expires on December 31st, rather than protecting the public interest," Pittalis continues. He concludes: "The risk is that the final bill—between litigation, appeals, and new appointments—will once again fall on the citizens. Forza Italia strongly denounces this approach: useless consultancy, waste of public resources, and a total lack of respect for institutions and the Sardinians. The Region must change course immediately: no more waste, no more unjustified external appointments, no more unloading the cost of political mistakes onto the citizens."
