Three weeks open, now it closes again. In the Arexini tunnel in Muravera, on the state road 125 “Orientale Sarda”, everything is ready for the start of the last phase of the modernization works. The construction site had been temporarily suspended last April 17, to limit the inconvenience to traffic during the holiday period: on Wednesday it starts again, with the inevitable inconveniences already known for some time .
The resumption of activities requires the suspension of traffic in both directions. Anas has defined how traffic will be repositioned on secondary roads, according to the following alternative route:
- traffic towards Tortolì will be diverted onto the former State Road 125 at the junction at km 39.300, towards the town of Muravera, then enter the ring road (via Sarrabus), continue on the municipal road and re-enter the Orientale Sarda using the junction at km 47;
- the traffic flow headed for Cagliari will instead be diverted at km 47 towards the town of Muravera on the former state road 125, continue along the municipal road until rejoining the state road 125 Var at the junction at km 39.300.
Access to the fuel station located at km 41.650 of the Orientale Sarda will also always be permitted .
The works inside the tunnel, with a total value of approximately 12 million euros, concern the creation of the new LED lighting system, safety lighting devices and the installation of new fire prevention and ventilation systems. The reopening to traffic is scheduled for May 30 , approximately four and a half months after the opening of the construction site on January 13 .
