13 people in prison and 18 under house arrest are the result of the "Monte Nuovo" operation, which hypothesizes the charges of mafia-type criminal association, secret association, association aimed at drug trafficking, corruption aggravated by the mafia method, embezzlement and procured failure to comply with the sentence aggravated by the mafia method.
But the investigations are not over: the prosecutors Emanuele Secci and Rossana Allieri have already entered other names on the register of suspects.
The searches carried out after the ROS raid two days ago would have led to the discovery of weapons. It is not known how many have been recovered nor of what type, but the fact is that - in investigative circles - the first evidence seems to emerge of what both the Cagliari District Anti-Mafia Directorate and the investigating judge Michele Contini have defined as the « reserve of violence", or the capacity for intimidation of which the group and, in particular, some of the suspects from Nuoro would have been capable.
The suspicion is that the secret association that the investigators are talking about included, in addition to the former kidnapper Nicolò Cossu (known Cioccolato), the Orgolese Tonino Crissantu (graziano Mesina's nephew) and the anesthetist Tomaso Cocco, as well as other members.
