Thirty days. It is the term used by the owners of boats illegally moored on the south side of the Sant'Elmo pier in Cagliari to remove the boats.

This was established by the joint ordinance of the Port System Authority and the Harbor Master's Office, issued yesterday, which thus takes a decisive step in the process of redevelopment of the city's waterfront.

The removal of all professional fishing boats and other boats moored without title in the spaces granted, since 2019, to the Marina di Sant'Elmo company must be carried out by 20 March . Once the term has expired, the boats will be removed by the Port System Authority and the owners will have another 30 days to repossess them upon reimbursement of the costs incurred by the AdSP, including for the deposit. In the event of no complaint, the boats will become available to the institution and will be put up for sale or disposed of.

For fishing boats, the destination will be the Darsena built by the AdSP in Sa Perdixedda where, since 2017, all professional fishing units have been welcomed. For other boats, however, the owners will be able to take advantage of the various alternatives for mooring and shelter available in the gulf of Cagliari.

"With this joint ordinance we definitively bring order to an unsustainable situation that has lasted for too long and we continue with the redevelopment and reorganization of the Su Siccu seafront - underlines Massimo Deiana, president of the AdSP of the Sardinian Sea - Un necessary deed, the one signed jointly with the Harbor Master's Office, which restores legality and restores full availability of the state property legitimately granted to the Sant'Elmo Marina. I trust in the success of the procedure and, in particular, in the common sense of the owners of the boats and fishing vessels".
