A 68 million investment plan, which involves 11 municipalities in the Metropolitan City of Cagliari (outside the capital) and with 12 planned interventions on the roads . This is what was presented this morning by the metropolitan mayor Paolo Truzzu and by the managing director of Viability Antonello Floris, with the immediate start of almost all the works (one has already begun) and the objective of improving road safety. "These interventions are the result of intense and fruitful work by the administration and offices, in close collaboration and synergy with the municipalities involved," says the metropolitan mayor Paolo Truzzu . "A result that makes us particularly proud and demonstrates how the metropolitan city model works and brings benefits to the whole territory as a whole, and not just to the capital around which it gravitates".

The interventions. The works will involve the municipalities of Quartu Sant'Elena, Quartucciu, Sestu, Sinnai, Maracalagonis, Settimo San Pietro, Elmas, Assemini, Villa San Pietro, Uta, Capoterra and Burcei. The main one is the construction of the new Burcei-Sinnai-Maracalagonis link road , a 15.7-kilometre route (about seven less than the existing one) with an investment of just under 48 million (financed by RAS Fondo per lo Sviluppo e la Cohesion 2014-2020, own funds of the Metropolitan City of Cagliari and PNRR resources).

The others concern the restyling of viale Marconi between Quartu and Quartucciu, two sections of the former SS 131 in Sestu, various maintenance of provincial and inter-municipal roads (including the former Sulcitana, the SP15, via Brigata Sassari between Quartu and Quartucciu, the connection between the SS 195 and Perd'e Sali and the Sa Cantonera junction in Sestu). Also scheduled are the pedestrian crossing of the Uta-Villaspeciosa railway station, the completion of the Capoterra ring road and the maintenance of SP17 (Quartu-Villasimius) and SP 92 (Saline Conti Vecchi-Capoterra) . Work has already begun on the SP 15, in the stretch between via Nazionale in Maracalagonis and the border with Sinnari, and works towards the Sa Funtanedda roundabout and in the stretch from the roundabout in the Sinnai industrial area to the town center will soon begin.
