The President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella has arrived in Sardinia to spend, for the second consecutive year, about ten days of vacation in Alghero .

The Head of State arrived at the military airport of Fertilia on the State plane , an Airbus A-319, welcomed with his staff by the commander of the military airport, Domenico Cecco, by the prefect of Sassari, Paola Dessì, by the mayor of Alghero Mario Conoci and the Chief of Staff of the Air Force, air squad general Luca Goretti.

“It's hard not to go back to Alghero and break away from this city” , were his first words. With him his daughter and family.

From the "Riviera del Corallo" port, the presidential procession then moved towards Alghero where Mattarella is hosted in the Air Force guesthouse inside the Porto Conte Park.

You will enjoy a few days of relaxation until next 21 August (except for program changes) between the sea, with some possible boat trips, and possible visits to museums or cultural heritage in the area such as the Archaeological Museum, the Nuraghe Palmavera, the Necropolis of Anghelu Ruju and the Capo Caccia lighthouse.

No institutional commitments are foreseen for now.
