«He always had a joke ready and was able to bring joy in any context he found himself. I still find it hard to believe it's gone." Angelo Lai, historic leader of a company of "big game" in Domusnovas, is one of many to mourn the disappearance of Marco Gessa, the thirty-eight-year-old bricklayer from Domusnovas who died late yesterday evening, along Provincial Road 2, due to the tremendous collision between his Lancia Ypsilon and a Fiat Doblò driven by Laura Deidda, 32, from Iglesias, who was seriously injured and hospitalized in the Brotzu hospital in Cagliari.

A terrible accident, probably caused by the invasion of the lane with which Gessa desperately tried to avoid the carcass of a fox which, according to the reconstruction of the Carabinieri of the Carbonia company, was in the middle of the roadway.

«He had been hunting with our company for many years», says Lai, remembering the victim, «we spoke almost every day, for me he was like a son. Tonight we will gather the company and also celebrate him inside the hunting lodge by framing a large photo of our full group in which he was smiling as usual. In that photo I will put a medal that he liked so much and that he had asked me to give him".

Huge condolences among the relatives: "An excruciating pain", Aunt Loredana can only say. «For me he was like an older brother to whom I could ask for advice on work and life. I still can't realize», are the words of his cousin Fabio. The funeral is scheduled for Saturday afternoon in the church of the Assunta, in Domusnovas.
