Manola Mascia , the 29-year-old from Cagliari found lifeless in the waters of Cala Fighera , on the Sella del Diavolo promontory in Cagliari , died from serious head injuries sustained in a fall from the cliff .

This is what was ascertained this afternoon by the autopsy carried out by coroner Roberto Demontis.

The necropsy examinations lasted approximately four hours and confirmed that the injuries were consistent with the young woman having fallen from the rocks.

The results of the histological and toxicological analyses are also awaited , but these will take several months.

Tomorrow morning Dr. Demontis will perform the autopsy on the body of Paolo Durzu, Manola's 33-year-old boyfriend, whose body was found and recovered today among the rocks of Cala Fighera , brought back to land by the sea and the sirocco wind. The discovery occurred about 15 meters from the place where the 29-year-old's body was found Wednesday morning.
