From 15 May, the Macomer dialysis center will resume regular operation every day of the week, from Monday to Saturday.

In fact, since May 1, the Nuraghe Ruju polyclinic center, a point of reference in the vast territory, even beyond the borders of Marghine, has once again a permanent doctor, with the return to service of the nephrologist Andrea Martorana.

"A relief for the sick in our community - comments Mayor Antonio Succu - but also the resumption of an activity that had slowed down due to Covid and the lack of doctors".

The Macomer dialysis center has 26 daily patients , who come from all over the area. Several times the service has suffered sudden stops, but now the situation has finally normalized with the return of the regular doctor. Until 14 May we will continue to operate three times a week, in the morning and in the afternoon, while from 15 May the service will be guaranteed every day from Monday to Saturday .

«The center currently has 7 nurses, a nursing coordinator and three Oss . A service that has never been interrupted, despite the difficulties - says the director of the district, Maria Giovanna Porcu - thanks to the availability of doctors from other local health authorities. The nephrology clinic, where prevention is also carried out, has never been interrupted. We can say that we are satisfied with the return of the regular doctor, to guarantee the important service».

The coordinator of the Committee for the defense of Marghine's health, Francesco Nieddu , adds: «The return of the permanent doctor solves the precariousness of this fundamental service. However, we also hope and reiterate the need to strengthen personnel».
