17 years after the events, the trial in Nuoro for the alleged laundering of part of the money deriving from the robbery of the Nuoro supervisory institute "Over security" ended with the acquittal of all five defendants , which on 23 May 2006 had yielded a booty of 3 million and 400 thousand euros.

In 2009 one of the employees, Moses Ledda , was convicted as a basis player , with a ruling that became definitive in 2011. An investigation was subsequently launched against some of Ledda's relatives, for movements of money deemed suspicious .

Today the court accepted the requests made by the same public prosecutor Giorgio Bocciarelli who in his indictment had underlined that most of the crimes contested were now time-barred . In one case, the father of Moses Ledda, the crime is instead extinguished by the death of the offender.

Therefore, Ledda's mother, Sebastiana Canu, her sister Stefania, her brother Marco, her sister-in-law Manuela Fois, and the employee of the Banco di Sardegna, Giuseppe Mele, accused of having managed the deposit of the sums, are acquitted because the fact does not exist .
