Eight under investigation for environmental crimes. Among these, one was also arrested for possession of drugs and explosives. This is the outcome of a series of checks carried out in recent months by the officers of the judicial police team of the Sardinian traffic police department in the workshops of Cagliari and its hinterland: five (including a body shop) were found to be irregular.
As part of the operations , various areas were seized, for a total of approximately 6000 square meters: they were mainly used as landfills.
Hazardous and non-hazardous special waste was found: abandoned and burnt vehicles, powertrains, flat batteries and processing waste, including used oils. Some were highly contaminating materials.
Among the eight reported, one was handcuffed: during the search , 400 grams of hashish and a homemade bomb weighing approximately one kilo were found.
