In Nuoro , another 2,500,000 euros will arrive for the reconstruction of over 3,000 meters of pipeline .

The governing body of the Sardinia area (Egas) recently approved the project of the second lot of interventions aimed at the disposal and replacement of the old pipelines of the inhabited centre.

In detail, the laying of 3,210 meters of new pipelines is planned, which will be made of nodular cast iron, to guarantee an optimal service for the distribution of the water resource and the consequent containment of the phenomenon of leaks.

The streets involved are Via Aldo Moro, Via Beato Angelico, Via Benedetto Croce, Via Biasi, Via Carlo Levi, Via Colombo, Via De Nicola, Via Don Sturzo, Via Emilio Sereni, Via Guiso, Via Iglesias, Via Lanusei, Via Limbara, Via Lucania, Via Marletta, Via Morandi, Via Rubeddu, Via Siniscola, Via Tempio, Via Togliatti and Viale Sardegna. In addition to the replacement of the old pipes, 280 new connections will also be made.

The works are entirely financed by Egas from the FSC 2014-2020 Development and Cohesion Fund and are added to the first lot of interventions approved by the institution in the past week for over 672 thousand euros and which involved the replacement of 450 meters of pipes and 112 connections in Piazza Crispi, Piazza Dante, Piazza Dell'Ulivo, Via Carducci, Via Efisio Tola, Via Farina, Via Ferracciu, Via Gattu, Via Monsignor Bua, Via Salaris, Via Papandrea and Via Sulis.

« Nuoro is part of a larger water redevelopment project that also includes the territories of Budoni, Galtellì, Irgoli, Oliena, Orosei and Siniscola - explains Fabio Albieri, president of Egas - The planning is making it possible to give legs to an important change of course aimed at improving the water service and reducing the phenomenon of water dispersion".
