Illness while taking a bath, a man dies on Pittulongu beach

Tragedy on the beach of Pittulongu, on the coast of Olbia.

A 51-year-old man, Aniello Cosenza, originally from Rome but a long-time resident in the Gallura city, was taken ill immediately after immersing himself in the water and died.

Some swimmers, having seen the man's body in the sea, have raised the alarm. The lifeguard of a nearby bathing establishment intervened and took the man out of the water and tried in vain to revive him.

Unfortunately, the 51-year-old was already dead, even the 118 operators who arrived shortly after could do nothing. The Carabinieri and the Coast Guard of Olbia also arrived in Pittulongu.
