Increasingly "infernal" climate in Sardinia, for days in the grip of the African heat.

On Tuesday 18 July there were more than forty municipalities on the island where the Arpas control units recorded temperatures above 40 degrees.

The day's record in San Gavino, where the thermometers went over 46.

But the Charon anticyclone also lashed Uras, Milis, Serrenti, Ottana, Berchidda and Guasila, where the columns exceeded 44 degrees.

And again: more than 42 degrees in Ozieri, Iglesias and Arzachena, 41 in Nuoro, 40 in Sassari Campanedda.

More lenient temperatures, so to speak, in Cagliari (34.7 in Pirri) and in Tortolì, Bari Sardo and Siniscola, where the detection systems stopped "just" below 32 degrees.

THE FORECASTS – Charon will also be the master on Wednesday, not only on the island, but throughout Italy.

So prevailing sun almost everywhere and maximum temperatures around 37 degrees, but which in Sardinia as well as in Sicily will still exceed 40.

On Thursday and Friday the anticyclone will become less fiery and storms will return in the north. Also in this case, however, Sardinia and Sicily, together with Puglia, will be the exception, with maximum temperatures once again above 40 degrees.

THE WARNING - In light of the forecasts, the Sardinian Civil Protection has issued an alert for high temperatures valid until next Saturday , inviting the population, especially the categories most at risk, to pay attention and follow the prevention rules (READ MORE ) .

And high (orange in color) obviously remains the alert for fires practically throughout the island, starting in the Cagliari area.
