A 23-year-old of Nigerian origin is hospitalized at the Santissima Annunziata hospital in Sassari after being stabbed by a 76-year-old man from Sassari who ended up under arrest .

According to what was reconstructed by the carabinieri who are conducting investigations into the incident, the elderly man, on the night between Monday and Tuesday, was buying a kebab in a restaurant in the historic center . Here he was approached by two boys from Nigeria - whom he already knew - and who asked him for food. He offered them food and then they went off together through the mazes of the ancient city.

The group would have been joined by two other young non-EU citizens, an argument would have arisen, the 76-year-old, frightened, pulled out a kitchen knife and pierced the 23-year-old .

After the alarm, the boy was taken to hospital by 118 and underwent surgery . It wouldn't be life threatening.

The carabinieri of the Company of Sassari also arrived on the spot and arrested the pensioner. For him, transferred to the Bancali prison, awaiting the validation hearing .
