Paolo Sale , the farmer who escaped the ROS blitz which last week dismantled an alleged mafia association in Sardinia, highlighting the links between crime and institutions, turned himself in this morning to the provincial command of the Carabinieri of Nuoro .

A 44-year-old breeder from Orgosolo, Sale had ended up under the order of the investigating judge of the Cagliari court: house arrest was ordered for him, but he immediately made himself unavailable .

According to the prosecution, the man supported Graziano Mesina during his long absence . He would have actively collaborated during the movements of the former Scarlet Pimpernel from Bono to Desulo, on 16 September 2021, " keeping in contact with members of the Gioi family of Desulo, to whom the fugitive had been entrusted ", we read in the order.

Paolo Sale is defended by the lawyer Rinaldo Lai.
