From France to San Teodoro to deepen the knowledge of the vineyards . It is the singular experience of 5 teachers of the high school of Cherves-Richemont , a French commune located in New Aquitaine, in the Cognac region .

The teachers of the Insitut Supérieur de Formation par Alternance this morning spent the first of 3 days which will see them engaged in an internship and a training visit to Sardinian vineyards. Hosting them is the Teo D'Oro estate of Martina Cianfarani, who enthusiastically embraced the program organized as part of the Erasmus+ project with which the Richemont institute aims to maintain the level of training of its teachers.

«I was contacted directly by the Institute for this initiative - explained Martina Cianfarani , owner of the winery - and I welcomed it with great pleasure because these teachers will bring their pupils to the classroom the experience they have been living here for we".

The main objective of the visit is to talk about the practices, see and touch them, as well as understand how the production of wine is managed on an island with its problems related to the climate, the soil and its territory.

A twinning between professionals in the sector which will culminate in October, when the staff of the Teo D'oro estate will visit the French professional school to discover the secrets of Cognac production. The transalpine institute specializes in the training of students between the ages of 16 and 30 who study wine production , but this time it was the professors who played the part of the curious students who, shears in hand, contributed to the work between the rows.

In these days the vines are partly peeled to aerate the bunches more and thus reduce the impact of the summer heat. An operation that anticipates the so-called "thinning of the bunches" by a week, which is useful for improving the quality of the grapes.

But the one with the prestigious French institute is not the only educational project of the Teo D'oro estate, a splendid 8-hectare vineyard overlooking the San Teodoro lagoon and La Cinta beach. In fact, the company organizes the fun harvest every year with the children, involving the summer camps of San Teodoro and nearby Budoni.

« I think that the relationship with schools is essential for linking the vineyard to its territory - explained the Teodorina entrepreneur - furthermore I believe that training should be done from an early age to make a trade known and teach the youngest the great work that c 'is behind a bottle of wine.' A commitment that the Gallura company born in 2018 carries on with a mix of traditional methods and innovation.

The large vineyard overlooking the sea makes use of various technological devices such as the app for vineyard management, a camera to monitor the phenology of the vineyard and a weather station for the management and structural control of the rows. «By virtue of our aptitude for technology, I would like to further expand the relationship with young people - concludes Martina Cianfarani - and involve the middle schools of San Teodoro and who knows, maybe train the oenologists and agronomists of the future».

A dream that will partially come true in September, when the Teo D'Oro estate will also host third-grade children from the via Vignola complex in Olbia for the harvest.
