Cagliari weeps for little Daniele Ulver, overwhelmed and killed yesterday in via Cadello while crossing the pedestrian crossing on the stroller pushed by his mother, who was unharmed.

A silent procession on the scene of the tragedy: someone leaves a bouquet of flowers, others a candle, still others a puppet or a note: “Rest in peace little star, you will always shine in our hearts. Hi Daniele ”.

A continuous coming and going of people today at the height of the Monte Claro park, at the point where yesterday the terrible road accident occurred in which the little boy of just 15 months died.

"How was this possible? Here they run like crazy, we hope that someone will try to find a solution," says a resident of the area. From the early hours of today, ordinary citizens and those who knew Daniele's family, his father Stanislav Ulver and his mother Ilaria Ennas, Fiori wanted to leave a thought for the little one near the impact site: bouquets of flowers appeared, but also toys, stuffed animals, toy cars, paintings with comic characters and lots of messages of closeness to parents.

DANGEROUS STREETS - Many speak of the danger of via Cadello, but there have recently been tragedies also in viale Poetto and via Bacaredda.

Pedestrians in danger on city streets? There are many invitations to do something to avoid drama. The regional councilor for tourism Gianni Chessa asks the mayor for a day of city mourning "so that Daniele's death may be a warning for the conscience of each of us".

Marcello Polastri, president of the Safety and Heritage Commission at the Municipality of Cagliari, cuts short. The fault lies with those who run, those who overtake at the strips, not the roads: "It is quite clear how the fault of this tragedy - he comments - should not be sought on the road, because it is well known what happened".

However, we can "question", we can "reflect" on the road and urban safety of the city. Polastri suggests raised pedestrian crossings in the streets most crossed by pedestrians and fixed speed camera positions.

"Prevention - he explains - is a must and a bump, a speed camera, a fine, a policeman who sanctions, are like a godsend in front of a white sheet that God no longer wants to be placed, on our roads, to cover a lifeless body ".
