The Region is about to revoke the ban on the controversy , the one for the road patrol service as part of the fire-fighting campaign that had caused the outcry of voluntary associations, barracelli and various Sardinian municipalities .

President Christian Solinas makes it known with a note, which reads: "Accepting the observations that came from the world of volunteering, I decided, in agreement with the Councilor for the Defense of the environment, to evaluate the revocation and the remodeling " of the announcement.

The governor therefore announces a new text to be submitted to the Regional Council and to be approved in a very short time which will allow the assignment of the service to voluntary associations and barracellari companies .

“A choice - underlines Solinas - which will entail a full responsibility of the associations, which will have to guarantee a fundamental service”.

Councilor Lampis, responding to the controversy of recent days, reiterated that " there was no desire to privatize the road patrol service , but the firm will not to prejudice the activities of the associations with an additional service, additional to that which are already committed to guaranteeing ".

Meanwhile, in Sinnai, a meeting of volunteers to discuss the mobilization against what is called a "privatization". He protests that, in light of Solinas' announcement, he could be back.

Political reactions followed the note from the Region: "The backward step of the President of the Region regarding the tender for the outsourcing of fire patrol services is a must", say the Progressives , in a statement.

"It was not acceptable that only on June 15, in the middle of the fire extinguishing operations on the island, the Civil Protection decided to act by outsourcing to private individuals a service that could have been carried out immediately by volunteers and barracelli who already collaborated with regional structures precisely for these purposes ".
"It was not admissible - add the Progressives - that the Presidency of the Region was unaware of the story, considering that the latter also supervised, then as now, the activities of the Directorate General of Civil Protection".

"Now - continues the note - it is necessary to immediately put the fire prevention campaign in order and to give guarantees so that all operators can now work with serenity and certainty: the Council will make the resources already available to regional structures, volunteer organizations and barracellari companies. allocated by the Regional Council in March, you definitively renounce the idea of privatizing essential public services and mortifying thousands of Sardinians who risk their own safety to safeguard human lives and the island's environmental heritage ”.

"Any other solution that does not provide for the withdrawal of the call and the immediate allocation of resources to those already accredited - conclude the Progressives - only serves to waste more time that we cannot afford to waste: ask the Regional Council, today, to put a piece to this mess is at least bizarre, considering that at any time the General Directorate of Civil Protection can revoke the ban and the Executive will immediately allocate the 3 million euros to all those already recognized by the regional fire fighting system.
