Another day of super work for the fire-fighting teams of Sardinia.
In the last few hours, 20 fires have broken out in the region , three of which required the intervention of the regional fleet's aircraft.
In particular, a new fire has developed in the countryside of Bonorva, in the Petteneddu area, attacking pastures and Mediterranean scrub . A helicopter that took off from the Anela base also took part in the extinguishing operations, coordinated by the staff of the local Forestry Corps Station. On the ground, the barracelli and volunteers also operated.
Also in Bonorva, flames in the Madruncula area ( READ ) . «The deployment of ground personnel was significant – explains the Forestry Corps – coordinated by the Forestry Corps Station of Bonorva and assisted by personnel from Villanova Monteleone and a tanker truck from Sassari. Also in action to put out the fire, fueled by the mistral wind, were two helicopters from the regional fleet and two Canadairs, one taking off from Olbia, the other from Rome-Ciampino . Also involved were two teams of volunteers from Meilogu and Bonorva, a team from the Forestas agency, the barracelli from Giave and the firefighters from Bono. The burnt surface is thought to be at least 50 hectares».
Aircraft in action – three helicopters took off from Villasalto, Pula and Lanusei, plus an Air Force helicopter – also in the municipality of Furtei ( READ ) , in the area of S'Acqua Salsa , in support of the ground personnel of the GAUF of the Cagliari Forestry Corps, the volunteers of Serramanna, Monastir and Assemini and the barracelli of Sanluri.
The extinguishing and clearing operations of the perimeter of the fires that broke out on Sunday in the municipalities of Guasila, Bonorva and Mores continued throughout the morning of Monday. In this case too, ground teams operated with the help of regional air vehicles.
