Budoni's greeting for the departure of his deputy parish priest, Don Virgilio Sanna, is all in the message that the mayor, Antonio Addis, dedicated to him on the municipality's institutional website. «The mayor, the municipal administration and the entire community express their most sincere thanks to Monsignor Virgilio Sanna, for the over 7 years of pastoral service carried out in our community».

Don Virgilio, 97 years old, was a much loved deputy parish priest among the people of Budo, devoutly playing a role as a guide for the faithful and a point of reference for the entire community. After his collaboration in the Gallura parish, the Don will continue his journey of faith in Portoscuso, where he will be able to benefit from the loving care of his sister, but the emotion of his departure is a common feeling among the inhabitants of the coastal centre.

«His willingness to listen to everyone – we read in the heartfelt message of Mayor Addis -, his always patient and caring presence, his fortitude in the Faith and his surprising and detailed testimonies, the fruit of a truly proverbial memory, will be missed much to the whole country."
