“The mayor has a tool to prevent even the surviving birds of Monte Urpinu from being killed. You use it”. The voice of Angelo Cremone from Sardinia is also added to the chorus of defenders of the birds in the Cagliari park, whose fate seems sealed after the discovery of an outbreak of avian flu by local health vets. The first killings to stem the epidemic have been carried out. More are expected in the coming days.
«But in Campi Bisenzio, in Tuscany, where the flu was discovered in February in the Chico Mendes park, the mayor, in collaboration with the ASL, closed everything and isolated the birds without symptoms. Already a candidate for mayor in Cagliari, the activist has called a demonstration for Tuesday under Palazzo Bacaredda: "We will ask for a stop to these wicked actions" , announces Cremone.
