Untracked products, dust, cobwebs and cockroaches .

The NAS Carabinieri of Cagliari have closed a bakery in the center of Quartu due to serious hygiene and sanitation deficiencies.

The inspection was conducted inside a 60-square-meter facility used for the production and sale of baked goods. The officers seized 70 kilos of food (bread, focaccia, fish products, cheeses, and processed meats) that did not comply with legal traceability requirements. Therefore, they were not labeled with the batch number, ingredients, and expiration date .

The sanitation situation inside the premises was appalling. There was a lot of accumulated dirt, dust, cobwebs, and cockroaches, as well as unremoved processing residues . The risk of food contamination was extremely high, especially given the presence of unused packaging materials.

For this reason , baking and sales activities were blocked . The seized products were worth approximately €1,000, fines of €2,500 were imposed, and health authorities were alerted to possible further measures.
