Monserrato, road disaster: buses and trucks stopped on Via Riu Mortu
Mayor Tomaso Locci's order also affects ARST and CTM vehicles, which will have to change their routes.

Heavy vehicles will be banned from Via Riu Mortu, in Monserrato. Mayor Tomaso Locci issued an ordinance today: from tomorrow until May 31, vehicles exceeding 3.5 tons will be prohibited from transiting between the intersection with Via Zuddas and Via Terralba, towards Via San Valeriano. This measure will also affect CTM and ARST vehicles.
The transit of these vehicles, the ordinance states, "entails risks to road safety, damage to local roads, and jeopardizes public safety."
The bad weather and increased stress following the traffic changes implemented a week ago—the swapping of the traffic lane and the parking lane—have caused the collapse of some repairs made years ago. This has caused new depressions in an already critical artery, no longer able to support the passage of heavy vehicles until the road surface is completely resurfaced.
