The hearing of the criminal trial in which Fulvio Baule, the 40-year-old from Ploaghe who killed his in-laws on February 26, 2022 in Porto Torres, has been postponed for the second time.

It had been set for this morning, February 21, after the first postponement decided on January 17 by the judge of the Court of Sassari, Massimo Zaniboni.

The absence due to impediment of the defense lawyer, Nicola Lucchi, has once again postponed the hearing on the testimonial evidence to next May 23, a hearing which foresees the comparison with the first five witnesses cited by the public prosecutor, Enrica Angioni.

Other texts were indicated by the civil party lawyers, Gabriele Satta and Gianmario Solinas, who assist the families of the victims.

The further postponement suspends the terms of pre-trial detention, therefore the defendant will remain in prison, as ordered by the judge.

Baule, confessed guilty, has been in prison since February 27 on charges of double aggravated homicide and attempted murder.

On February 26, 2022, the bricklayer from Ploaghe, after having argued in the street with his wife Ilaria Saladdino, in front of the building where she lived with her parents in Porto Torres, took an ax from the trunk of his car and hit his father-in-law Basilio on the head first Saladdino, killing him instantly, then his wife and finally his mother-in-law, Liliana Caterina Mancusa, who died in hospital after about a month in a coma.

After a year of treatment and hospitalization for the serious injuries sustained, Ilaria Saladdino, 39, returned home to embrace her two-year-old twin boys again.

A miracle and still a long way to go to forcefully regain possession of one's life.
